On January 29, 2021, a resolution was published in the Official Gazette of Mexico City granting a 100% waiver of the payroll tax corresponding to the month of January 2021. This waiver applies to businesses engaged in providing restaurant services, provided that in their January 2021 tax filing they demonstrate having maintained or increased their workforce compared to December 2020.

You have until February 17, 2021 to obtain the benefit.

The waiver can be requested through the Mexico City Ministry of Finance’s online portal, using the Contribution Administration System (SAC).
